The Royal Mile
When it comes to stories, this place has plenty. I took a tour called Doomed, Dead, and Buried, and one tale in particular stuck with me. It was about a young woman who was abandoned by her husband, left to care for their infant alone. Hoping for a better life, she moved to Edinburgh, where she met another man who got her pregnant. At the time, the law required women to publicly declare their pregnancies. Worse still, adultery was punishable by death. When she gave birth, she threw the baby into the river. But the body didn’t drift far and it didn’t take long for people to figure out whose child it was. She was arrested and sentenced to be hanged. They carried out the execution and buried her.But that’s not where the story ends. In those days, body snatching was big business. Which meant people would go into the grave snatch the body and sell to doctors, scientists,& medical students. When a body snatcher went to dig up her grave she woke up and spooked the hell out everyone. No one quite knew what to do with her, but in the end, it was decided that since she had technically served her sentence, she was free to go.

Day 4
Old Man Storr
It was pouring! Cats and dogs! The strong winds kept waking me up thinking the roof of our little cabin/shed would come out. I woke up at 4am worried I wouldn’t be able to hike. 6am the rain finally stopped and the forecast said winds for the day with no rain. I woke my cousin up and soon we were on the road to hike the old man Storr. 7:30 am the winds were blowing where at times I had to hold my feet hard. After a while I didn't see my cousin anymore. She had stayed behind. Then she texted me, “go on, I can’t.” I kept going and soon I reached the summit. 10/10 fucken amazing! I realized I had to take a selfie because there was no one to take pictures of me. A guy noticed this and he offered to take my pictures. The sun started to come out between the clouds. According to scientists the rocks formed in the Jurassic era from thick basalt lavas but that’s just rubbish. People from Scotland know that giants used to live out here and one of the stones is the remains of the old man of storr’s thumb.
