Working on the kitchen was a whole different story. This part really hadn’t been touched in over 30 years. I wanted to tear everything out, but that would've meant a 25k remodel or more and that wasn't in the budget.

It took me about two days just to remove all the hardware, and that was only about 5% of what still needed to be done.

Once again, my brother-in-law came to the rescue and helped me sand most of the cabinet doors. At this point I started calling him the Project Manager. Anytime I wasn't sure what to do next or had a question about the renovation, he was the person I called. While he worked on that, my cosuin painted his room, and I primed the rest of the house.
