Carnaval

Day 1. Night of "Calenda"

Day 2. "Convite." 

Day3. "Mesa de Jóvenes" a group of young men are assigned this service and are in charge of helping organize important events during the Carnval. They are in charge of the making of the "tepache" that is given out during the festivities. During the calenda they are responsible for dancing with the "marmotas." They also find the people that dress up as clowns on the Sunday of Carnaval. During the jaripeo they pull the bull into bull pen. In this ocassion they painted a "tapete" in the center of the rodeo. 

The clowns dress-up At the house of the president of the "Mesa de Jóvenes." They will be participating in the inaguration of the jaripeo. They shout some fun versus, dance, give out mezcal, throw some candy and fruit. 

Once the clowns finish getting ready, along with the band they make their way to the house of the Queen of Carnaval to finally reach the grounds of the jaripeo.

The riding of the clown. A tradition is for the clown to open up the jaripeo riding the first bull. In the town there is a diffrent stlye to ride the bull. That style is riding the bull by the neck.

Day 5. Tuesday of Carnaval "mañanitas". On the last day of Cranaval, a last dance around the streets of the town. It starts at 4:00am. Along with the bands, some people decide it is best not to sleep until it is over. On this ocasion it ended at 9:00am.  

The day continues with more activities. The kids dress up as clowns. They also say jokes and throw candy. 

In the afternoon the "liga Femenil" who is made up women are in charge of making "aguas frescas" for the public. The "reina de Carnaval" Rebecca Mata enjoying her water.

As the day comes to an end, the town says its goodbyes to the visiting bands and the Queen of Carnaval. With that giving an end to the anual Carnaval.
