On the day I was supposed to finish my room, my friend came over and offered to help. She painted the hallway while I kept working, and then she helped me deep clean the floors. My friend was a lifesaver that day.
The hardwood floors are one of the original features of the house. Yes, they're damaged, but I still hope to have them professionally refinished one day. For now, a deep cleaning would have to do, and it made a huge difference.
My cosuin even learned to do some electrical work which was very helpful. My aunt (his mom) helped me with clearing up the dust.
At the end of the week, my dad arrived. He was only in town for three days to take care of some urgent matters, but for two of those days he worked right alongside me.
My dad ended up painting all the windows, the kitchen walls, and even helped me limewash the living room. I finished the dining room while he completed the bathroom.
The following week, my brother-in-law finished painting the cabinet doors. He used a paint sprayer, which gave them a much smoother finish.
After another two or three days of sanding, my cousin finished preparing the remaining cabinets, and we called my brother-in-law back to spray paint the rest of them.
A lot still needed to be done but after 2 months we where moved in.
